Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) has obtained stay from Sindh High Court (SHC) against a corrigendum issued by National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) to rectify an 'inadvertent error' in KESC's tariff. A "numerical error" in the Schedule of Tariff (SoT) of KESC has been challenged by the privately-run public utility.

According to Irfan Gil, Legal Advisor to NEPRA, KESC has recently obtained stay from the court barring the authority from initiating further action on the issue. The authority will defend the corrigendum in court and at other forums as it was issued to rectify the error in calculation "which needs no hearing or prior input from KESC", he claimed.
